No. This is an independent comparison guide, not a tour operator, a winery or a booking platform. We do not run any of these tours, own a vehicle or hold a seat. We compare the real, currently bookable Cape Winelands wine tours by price, rating, group size, which estates the day reaches and what lunch and tastings are included, then send you to the operator's own listing to book. Where a tour is described, those are the listing's published details, not a day we spent on it.

Yes, entirely, and there is nothing to sign up for. We are paid only when you book a tour after clicking through, at which point the booking platform passes back a share of the commission it already earns from the operator. Your price is exactly the same as it would be arriving at that listing directly, because that share comes out of the platform's margin rather than being added to your ticket. The disclosure page sets out the full arrangement, and the comparisons work just as well as research whether or not you ever book through us.

This site compares tours and takes no bookings of its own. Every card and every button opens the operator's own listing on the platform that sells it, and the whole transaction happens there: you pick the date, you pay, and the platform issues the voucher with the pickup instructions on it. Nothing is held, charged or confirmed here. That also means the listing, not this page, is the authority on price, availability and terms at the moment you book.

Because ten of the thirteen show a set starting price, running $25 to $224 per person, and the other three show their price only on the live listing. That happens when a platform serves its price inside a live booking session or localises it by country. Rather than print a number that might not hold, those three cards say the price is on the listing and the button takes you straight to it.

Small samples are printed at their real size: a food-and-wine day with 13 reviews is not dressed up as anything larger, and a rating is never averaged across two platforms to make a rounder number. No testimonial appears here unless a real traveller published it on a real listing.

The listings here generally state free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund, in the platform's own wording, which is why holding a date early usually costs you nothing but a click. The booking page is the authority on the exact window for the option you pick, so read it before you commit, and inside those 24 hours the listing's own terms take over. That window is also the reason a popular tour is worth locking in as soon as your dates firm up, because the small-group days fill first in the busy summer months.

Any month works, but the seasons feel different. Summer, roughly December to March, is green, hot and busiest, with long light and weekends that book out. Harvest runs about February to April, when the estates are working. Winter, June to August, is the quiet, cheaper season, with tastings by the fire and cloud on the mountains. Spring, September to November, is the mild, uncrowded shoulder. In high season the small-group tours book out earliest, so reserve ahead.

You can self-drive, but only with someone in your party who will not be tasting. South Africa's blood-alcohol limit is 0.05, and it drops to 0.02 for professional drivers, with no reliable way to know your own reading without testing. A tasting flight is several small pours that add up quickly, and the estates are spread across the valley and out toward Franschhoek and Paarl, ten to forty minutes apart and not walkable from one to the next. A guided tour hands the driving to somebody sober and lets everyone taste. If you have a willing non-drinking driver, self-driving is a genuine option, and the guides weigh it honestly.

Most of these tours include hotel pickup in Cape Town in the price, but the point they collect from depends on the option you book. The full-day and half-day tours commonly collect around Cape Town, about 50 kilometres away, while a few of the hop-on-hop-off loops and the vineyard walk start in Stellenbosch itself. Your voucher names your exact pickup point and time for the date you booked, so check it rather than assuming, and arrive a few minutes early.

The confirmation email, every time. It carries your reference, the pickup instructions and a message channel that reaches the operator and the platform that took your money. We cannot see your booking, change a date, add a passenger or issue a refund, because none of it runs through us.
